New Year's resolutions. We all make them and probably less than half of us keep them. I had originally wanted to post my list of resolutions on the first day of the year as my first blog post. Then I decided to give it a few days and think it over. Are these resolutions doable? Do I actually want to attempt to hold myself accountable for this personal "to-do list" for the next 365ish days?
Well, I'm writing this post, so the answer must be "yes". And you're still reading this, so you must be waiting with bated breath to see what all I've decided to resolve to do in 2015.
READ THE BIBLE // This is my most important goal for the year. I've never read the entire Bible. Or even very much of the Bible at all. But I'm at a place in my life where I'm trying to become closer with God and I'm realizing how much I'd like to be an example to my children so that they will want to be closer with God as well. My NIV copy of the Bible has 1,140 pages. (I checked.) So that's 3.12 pages per day. Insanely doable.
TAKE MORE PHOTOS WITH MY KIDS // You don't really need a speech about this. I just want my girls to have plenty of pictures with their mama and each other. Don't worry, I will share them ALL.
FINISH WHAT I START // I am a project hoarder. My itty bitty head is full of tons of "bright ideas" and I am often starting new projects. (Like this blog? Haha...) The ratio of finished projects to the number of projects I start is pretty low. I'll work on it.
BE HAPPY // I guess "happy" is going to be my one word for 2015. It is my nature to worry and stress and create ridiculous and unlikely scenarios in my head. I'm not crazy, but it did get worse when I became a mother. This trait of mine creates problems and causes issues that could all be avoided if I gave myself a reality check more often. This will absolutely be my most difficult resolution, but I would very much like to focus more on the good. Instead of worrying first, I'll be happy first. And worry when there's actually something to worry about.
That's it for me. We will see how it goes. What did you resolve to do in 2015?
