It's about 9 o'clock in the morning, the kids and I have had breakfast and coffee (just me) and it's about 65 degrees outside. The only thing on my mind so far this week is how fall is almost here and what all I need to buy to decorate for it. I'm simultaneously writing this post and searching for fall themed printables on Google, but the options are slim so far. Then I remembered that I never posted anything about Andy's super exciting adventure last month; he went skydiving!
Last year for his birthday I gave him a gift certificate to go skydiving. He is an absolute adrenaline junky and had never been before. I'm all about supporting his thrill seeking habit and we make a point of our relationship being about having adventures together, especially doing things and going places with each other that neither one of us have been to or done before.
Fast forward a year later and Andy finally has the time and a jumping buddy who isn't me. Yeah, I'm not that big on the thrill seeking. We went zip lining a couple of months ago and that was terrifying enough for me.
The plane.
Andy's best friend jumping.
They call him "Muscles".
So we scheduled a jump appointment and drove about 45 minutes to a small airport one state over. They had to sign some papers in case things didn't end well, watch a video and then get suited up by a diving instructor. Andy and his friend went up on two different flights so they didn't really get to jump "together" but they both still had an amazing time and it was basically the best thing either one had ever done. You can watch Andy's video on YouTube and see that he was slightly terrified until his parachute opened. Not that I blame him. Now he's ready to go back a few more times and get certified to jump by himself.
Andy right before he got on the plane.
Taking off.
That tiny little speck is Andy, about 12,000 feet in the air.
